A Little Christmas 2014 Message From Fethiye

A very happy Christmas Eve to all of you who are celebrating Christmas. We’ll keep this short and sweet because, if you’re anything like us, you’ve got a lot to do today and are wondering quite how you’re going to fit it all in – I’ve just this second finished making pastry for the mince pies that we’re taking round to a friend’s house in a short while. However chilled and relaxed Christmas in Fethiye is, we still manage to introduce our own form of happy hectic into it – but then Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas would it if we were all organised?

Aksazlar Beach, Fethiye

Aksazlar Bay in winter

The photo above is today’s photo of the day over on our Turkey’s For Life Facebook page and also on Instagram, too. It’s not one from today but it’s a scene we absolutely love; the view of Fethiye from Aksazlar Koyu in winter. And today is a typical winter scene, too, with not even a ripple in the sea. So while we charge about the house in chaotic manner, all around us, there is calm.

And we’ll just take this opportunity to add this festive video. If you remember at the beginning of December, we wrote our blog post about Çalış Christmas Fair after we’d been shopping for Turkish Christmas presents. In that post, there was supposed to be a video but it was taking a long time to process. Eventually, it was ready and we’ve now added it to the post. We like it because it’s a bit of Christmas calm so we’re adding it again, here. Enjoy!

So, from a not very calm and tranquil Barry & Julia household, we’d just like to say, to all who are celebrating…

Merry Christmas!
