2015 Life In Turkey – What Have We Got Lined Up…

First of all, let’s get the important bit done where we wish you a very happy new year and say our usual great big thank yous to everyone who supports us by reading the Turkey’s For Life blog. Thanks also for all your comments, likes, follows and adds in our various social media profiles. It really is all very much appreciated!

Anyway…

Anyway, yes, this is the annual post where we are supposed to tell you what we have lined up for the year ahead for ourselves, and therefore for the blog – well, much of our daily life is documented in these posts, so, whatever we do, the blog does, too.

But, this post is going to be a little bit different. Because you know us; our life is haphazard. We fully intend to do something…and then we don’t do it. We fully intend not to do something…and then we go out and do it. It’s just how we do things. But we do have lots of ideas and plans for 2015, so we’ll give you a rough outline of what is in store (potentially) for this year…

New Year's Day Rainbow In Fethiye, Turkey

A New Year’s Day rainbow for Fethiye

2015 For Turkey’s For Life

A random New Year’s Day Fethiye photo to start us off. There we were, yesterday, queuing at the cash machine in the rain – and then we turn round to see this fantastically vibrant rainbow. Beautiful start to the year that just had to be caught quickly with phone. A moment in time on 1st January 2015.

And onwards with the rest of the year:

Fethiye

Last year, we did monthly roundups of various goings on around Fethiye and we’ll continue with those. Of course, there are also going to be regular posts from around the whole Fethiye area, and, no doubt, lots of eating and drinking suggestions as we come across them, too.

Turkish Food & Recipes

Turkish food and recipes is another major part of our blog and we’ll continue to keep weekends for focusing on some aspect of Turkish cuisine. Sometimes that will be on the blog, and, other times, it might just be photos or shared articles on social media. We’ve got a mini backlog of recipes to write so they’ll be appearing soon.

Travelling Turkey

This is where we’re definitely keeping plans in pencil! Last year, we had lots of plans. While we made it to Runtalya 2014 other travel plans were based around runs taking place in Turkey – and Barry getting injured meant we had to cancel two trips unfortunately. If this year’s plans come to fruition, then we’re in for some good fun and blog posts which we can’t wait to write!

Runtalya 2014, Antalya, Turkey

We made it to Antalya so Barry could run the half marathon

Turkey’s For Life

We’re so excited about changes to the actual blog this year. We’ve done so much work through 2014. Most of this work is background stuff that isn’t visible but very necessary for our plans. If you’re very observant, you’ll have seen a few clues as to what might be coming, but hopefully, everything will reveal itself very visibly, soon… Crossed fingers and toes. And we’re hoping to add more videos to the blog, this year, too. We experimented with that a bit more through 2014 and we quite like it. Noooo, we’re not experts (by a long way)…but we like it. It’s good fun, and lighthearted good fun is us.

Social Media

You know we love our social media. We share all sorts of different things on our various pages and accounts and we’ll continue to try and incorporate that more with the blog, too, throughout 2015, so that those of you who don’t use social media can see some of what’s going on. If you do use social media, come and join us!

Like us on Facebook for photos, shares from other pages, useful links, all things Turkey.
Follow us on Twitter for Turkey randomness including daily Fethiye weather updates.

So, as you can see, rather than outlining concrete go-getting-plans, we’re just kinda gonna go with the flow this year. The concrete go-getting plans are there…but we’ll write about them as those plans become reality. 2015 is the year we embrace random, free-flowing blogging that very much reflects our life in Turkey. Get ready for the rest of the year. We’re looking forward to it and we’d love you to be with us along the way!
