Wandering around Rome
A Friday photo with a difference today. Yes, we are supposed to be showing photos from the Fethiye area of Turkey...and that's what's different. What you're looking at now is a cafe society scene from the beautiful city of Rome. We're in Italy until next Friday and will be in Rome until tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow we head slightly southwards to the town of Cassino. We're full to bursting with blog posts and all is being noted.
First impressions of Rome: we always say you shouldn't expect anything from a city. Just experience it. Well, we're doing our best and Rome is matching all of our preconceptions. Interesting. We're just loving wandering between the sights...

have a great trip!!!
Have fun and enjoy!
To my mind, even though one is not expecting anything, Rome simply just cannot disappoint :) I have the best memories of my time spent there, and I hope you're enjoying yours.
P.S. Very nice picture! :)
Happy Holidays! I remember not liking Rome too much due to racism and us being asians .... sigh. When will all this end? I enjoyed the gelatos tho. The heck with them racists ... you can't spoil everything :)
I know I loved Assisi and thinking of going back again.
Have a great time!
I'm green with envy. I love Rome - more romantic than Paris, I think (pun intended).
Glad to hear you're enjoying the trip to Italy. And have more time to wander between the sights than I did on Monday.
@ jaz: Thanks. I'm sure we'll do our best. :)
@ Joy: As above. We usually do very well at having fun. ;)
@ Migle: I think most people have images in their head of what Rome is going to look like. Everything is as we expected so far. :)
@ Ping: Wow, that's interesting. Our hotel is just outside the centre and we're in an area where there are many different communities it seems. Lots of Japanese and Indian people. We were wondering what Rome was like for immigrants. For architecture though, we're loving it. A shame you had a bad experience. :(
@ Jack: t dies seem like a romantic city - although it wasn't very romantic last night when we were trying to find where we needed to go and were bickering about it. ;)
@ Italian Notes: All good. We've done the 'Rome in a day' thing and today is for catching up with the internet stuff before we head to Cassino. :)
Lovely shot - Going back to Rome soon just for a day, seems like my love-hate relationship with this city doesn't let me stay away for too long ;)
You know what they say, when in Rome. No substitute for doing it yourself! Thanks for the inspiration!
@ Angela: Barry's responsible for this one. :) I think we'd probably develop a love-hate relationship with Rome...which means you've got to keep going back! :)
@ Anila: We always prefer to do as much ourselves as possible. :)
