EY’s Bistro Bar, Çalış Beach – A Happy Buzz

Along Çalış Beach promenade in Fethiye is a separate bank of four cafe bars – and it has a bit of a magnetic draw for us. One of those places is EY’s Bistro Bar.

People sat outside EY's bar restaurant with a large parasol in the foreground.

Over the years, we’ve whiled away many an hour at neighbouring Calisto.

And, relatively recently, EY’s has been added to our little Çalış Beach repertoire of places we like to sit.

That’s because they moved from the small premises next door to a much more spacious spot.

Room to spread out and huge umbrellas outside, offering welcome shade from the sun in the summer months.

And as the sun lowers in the sky, so the umbrellas are shimmied around to protect customers from its burn and glare.

It’s the little things…

We’ve known owner, Ender, for some time but never went to the previous incarnation of EY’s.

A much smaller place, friends who went there talked of mainly of the pies, cakes, other desserts and coffee.

Not really our thing.

Now, EY’s Bistro Bar is what it says on the tin.

A bar serving food.

The menu has grown – without being overfacing – and we’ve loved the food we’ve had so far.

And we love the atmosphere, there, too.

The Mexican chicken wrap is great

Dürüm (wraps) are always a good tester for me.

Not just the amount of filling but the quality of that filling – and I love it when the lavaş bread is seared a little, too.

As you can see, the Mexican chicken dürüm has no shortage of tasty chicken pieces and spicy vegetables.

Barry’s had the köfte dürüm which he also enjoyed – and which I didn’t think to photograph on the day.

But it doesn’t take long to settle into a habit, with us.

And our latest habit is to order a seafood pizza between us, along with a portion of chips on the side.

Great weekend sharing food to take your time over whilst enjoying cold beers and the seaside scenery.

The reason we order a portion of chips?

Because they’re real chips!

Twice cooked for extra crispiness – the perfect treat!

Real chips are ALWAYS appreciated

Since shifting along next door to the bigger premises, EY’s attracts a mixed bag of customers – a younger crowd, an older crowd, Turkish and foreign, locals and holidaymakers.

Very much part of the scene that gives that section of Çalış Beach promenade such a happy buzz with occasional live music for good measure.

And when the winter months arrive, we can sit outside on the warm sunny days with tables next to the sea to watch the sunset.

And, on the colder days, nice and cosy inside in front of the log burner.

Lovely!
