The spring of 2025 saw lots of new additions along the Çalış Beach promenade. And the arrival of Roof Bar was one that definitely piqued our interest as we watched the renovations of the hotel below it progress.
That hotel is Deniz Otel, along the Çalış Beach promenade. Above is the view of it from the roadside – looking rather smart after a recent facelift!
Ada Balık seafood restaurant is on its bottom terrace, on the seafront.
To get to Roof Bar, you enter the hotel from the roadside. Then you can either climb the stairs to the top terrace or you can use the 2-person lift.
Roof Bar Or Not?
The shade canopy had been over the terrace for a while, whilst hotel renovations were still underway.
Every run down the beach, Barry had it earmarked as a potential roof bar.
However, as we couldn’t see any definite signage, I was thinking it might just be a breakfast terrace for hotel guests.
But then, eventually, the signage went up on the roadside of the hotel – Deniz Otel Restaurant & Roof Bar.
And that’s its name – Roof Bar.
It opened towards the end of May 2025.
Panoramic Views
Obviously, being on top of a hotel, we hoped for great views over the sea and along Çalış Beach from Roof Bar.
And when we go, we’re never disappointed with what we see before us.
Always an ‘ahhhh’ moment when the famous Fethiye scenery viewed from on high greets us.
The views from Roof Bar are panoramic.
You can see along the stretch of the nose of Çalış Beach to the bird sanctuary and over to the centre of Fethiye, along the Karagözler.
You can see over to Şövalye Island.
In addition, you can soak up the views along the curve of Çalış Beach and towards Koca Çalış and Çiftlik.
It’s lovely to sit and feel unnoticed as you watch people way down below going about their day – or evening.
Swimming, sunbathing, strolling along the promenade.
Roof Bar Music
Did I just say it’s nice to sit and feel unnoticed?
Well, at sunset at weekends – for the moment at least – there are sunset DJ sets, sometimes with live percussionist or saxophonist.
Roof Bar is a dinky little place, so chairs are removed from the equation when live music is on.
Stand, rather than sit, at a table with your drink – or dance, too, if you like!
We love sunset live music / DJs and Çalış Beach does it really well.
As a result, Roof Bar is now a part of that scene, too.
And of course, you’re going to get a cracking view of the famous Çalış Beach sunset from up here.
Great to be able to appreciate that spectacular sunset to the sounds of the weekend DJ.
Hungry?
We’ve not eaten yet at Roof Bar but we do intend to because the guy running the place is eager for us to try some of the dishes.
The ‘Sloppy Joe’ is his own recipe, he says.
Cooked by his mum, there’s a small selection of bar snacks including said Sloppy Joe, ‘beer plate,’ guacamole, nachos and paçanga börek.
There’s not much else to say, really.
Except, get yourself up there for those amazing views – day or night – and enjoy a drink, bar snacks and maybe a weekend DJ set.
