If you’re wondering what book to read next, let us make a suggestion for you… Yes, what seems like many many moons ago, we wrote a gushing book review of Jack Scott’s debut book, ‘Perking The Pansies; Jack and Liam Move To Turkey‘. We loved it! If you’re not familiar with Jack Scott, he’s a …
Because we wanted to see the ruins of ancient Myra again, we did a mini D400 coastal road trip rather than returning via the quicker yayla mountain road. Back in March of this year, we were in Antalya for Runtalya, a running event that Barry took part in. If you followed the posts, you’ll know …
“Hi Barry and Julia. Apologies for the slow reply. We had a terrible forest fire in Adrasan over the weekend and I was helping friends out…” And life’s like that. The author of the book we’d been invited to review couldn’t reply to us because she was helping friends in a clean up operation after …
Okay, so where are we up to? Ahlat is our next stop. We showed you the map of our route from Patnos to Tatvan on our little mini road trip. Our first stop was Adilcevaz with the centuries old mosque and beautiful views across Van Gölü, and then it was time to press on towards …

When we wrote about the Lycian and Roman ruins of Xanthos, we said that around many of Turkey’s archaeological sites, modern daily life continues. Nowhere is this more evident than at Izmir agora. Izmir’s Ancient …
